About Rajasthan with Heritage Hotels

Rajasthan with Heritage Hotels is designed to experience the Rajasthani culture and history while staying in some of the region’s most charming and quirky heritage hotels. Experience the highlights of the region as well as its more hidden gems. Our tour starts in Delhi by exploring the sights of the capital city, with its vast marketplaces, ancient tombs and historical mosques. Next, we travel to Agra to take in the world’s favorite monument to love, the Taj Mahal. Then, we travel to the Pink City of Jaipur and on to the edge of the Thar Desert in Jodhpur, with its imposing mountaintop fort. Next, make our way to Narlai to experience life in rural Rajasthan. Located in the heart of the Aravalli Hills, Narlai is a small, busy and idyllic little village surrounded by forested hills; it’s arguably one of the most beautiful rural locations in Rajasthan. We end our adventure in the elegant city of Udaipur, with its shimmering lakes and extraordinary island palaces. The next day, we board a flight back to Delhi from Udaipur, where we complete our journey.

Namaste!! Welcome to the beautiful and colorful country India. After following immigration and customs formalities at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in New Delhi, we will be greeted by a representative from High Wonders Travel who will take us to our pre-booked hotel. After checking in, we take a rest or we may also stroll around. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by High Wonders at a local restaurant. For dinner, you will be served excellent authentic North Indian cuisine which will introduce you to the North Indian food culture.

Post breakfast we will be taken for a city tour of Old and New Delhi. Today we will visit Jama Masjid which is known to be the largest mosque in India. This mosque was built by Shah Jahan and its construction started in 1844. We will also visit Red Fort, Chandani Chowk and Rajghat. Next, we head to visit Humayun's Tomb, Qutub Minar, President House, India Gate and Laxmi Narayan Temple which is also known as Birla Temple. Later, drive back to the hotel.

Post breakfast at the hotel. We start our tour to Agra driving through Taj Expressway. On arrival, we check in to our pre-booked hotel and rest for a while and then we begin our sightseeing by visiting world Famous monuments Taj Mahal Built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Followed by a visit to Agra Fort another World Heritage site and Itimad Ud Daulah Tomb is a Mughal mausoleum in the city of Agra and then, we visit nearby markets. Later, we drive back to the hotel.

We wake up early in the morning and head off into Ranthambhore National Park for safari. The park’s most famous resident is the majestic Bengal Tiger, though it is also home to leopard, peacock, numerous species of deer, crocodiles, sloth bear and much more. After the safari, we return to the lodge for breakfast and a few hours at leisure. Here we can relax, explore the local area, or discuss sightings with staff and other guests. In the afternoon, we’ll head back into the park for a second Jeep safari, to observe the jungle in a different light.

Today, we can explore the 10th century Ranthambhore Fort for a spectacular birds-eye view of the jungle. Later, proceed to Jaipur, on arrival check in to the pre-booked hotel. Evening at leisure.

Post breakfast, we proceed for Jaipur sightseeing which is replete with historical landmarks that echo it’s and living traditions. Visit the famous Amber Fort, Overlooks Maota Lake and offers a mesmerizing view of Amer town. While coming back to the city drive past Jal Mahal. Visit of Famous landmark known as city palace located in the center of the Old City. Followed by a visit of Jantar Mantar, features the world’s largest stone sundial. At last outside visit of Hawa Mahal (Palace of winds) located at the hustle-bustle of Jaipur city. In the evening we visit some local markets; Jaipur is well known for its beautiful local handicrafts, vibrant textiles and semi-precious jewelry.

After breakfast, we take a drive to Jodhpur which is known as The Blue City and The Sun City. Blue City because it is said that the color is associated closely with the Brahmins, India’s priestly caste and the blue houses of the old city belong to families of that caste. Sun City because of its bright and sunny weather throughout the year.

The city was founded by Rao Jodha, a chief of the Rathore clan, in 1459. It is named after him only and was previously known as Marwar. Located towards the western side of the capital city of Jaipur, residing on the edge of the Thar Desert, the city of Jodhpur is the second-largest city in the state of Rajasthan. Beaming with bazaars, forts, and gardens and is also among the famous tourist destinations in the state as well as India. The city will charm you within minutes, on arrival check in to the hotel.

Post breakfast we proceed for a sightseeing tour, we visit Mehrangarh Fort a fort stands a hundred feet in splendor on a perpendicular cliff. Next, we visit Jaswant Thada a milky-white marble memorial to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Later, in the afternoon head out to the arid countryside on a Jeep safari. The scrubland south of Jodhpur is dotted with villages, their mud and thatch huts inhabited by the Bishnois and communities of potters and weavers. A tour of the area provides a memorable opportunity to observe the rhythm of daily life in these hamlets, experience the warm hospitality of the villagers, and see beautiful traditional crafts being practiced.

Steering off the beaten track, today we’ll head towards Narlai, located in the heart of the Aravalli Hills. On arrival Narlai, check in to the hotel. Our time here is at leisure to relax, we can explore the local area, or take part in activities according to our interests.

We wake up early for a sunrise walk up Elephant Hill – a huge granite rock looming over the property. There are 756 steps to the top, but the spectacular views are well worth it! Later, we continue our journey to Udaipur. On the way, we stop over in Ranakpur to explore the elaborately carved Jain temple (one of the five great holy places of the Jain faith, this ornate temple boasts 1444 uniquely carved pillars). On arrival Udaipur, check in to the hotel. The evening at leisure to relax.

After having breakfast at the hotel. We proceed for a city tour of Udaipur by visiting City Palace complex prominent landmark of Udaipur. Then, we visit the famous pilgrimage site Jagdish Temple followed by Saheliyon-ki-Bari a beautiful garden. In the evening we take a boat tour at Lake Pichola. Later, drive back to the hotel.

Today is the last day of our tour, after breakfast we have free time to explore nearby places. Later we will be driven to Udaipur Airport to board the flight to Delhi, after reaching Delhi we will remain to our pre-book hotel. In the evening we will join a farewell dinner program hosted by High Wonders.

Our journey in India comes to an end today! But the memories will remain forever of the wonderful times we spent together. A High Wonders Travel representative will drop us off at the airport approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight.
